An Alberta corporate annual return is a mandatory filing that businesses operating in the province of Alberta, Canada, must submit each year. This filing is made with the Alberta Corporate Registry and serves to update information regarding the company’s current status, ownership, and other relevant details.

When to Submit Your Annual Return
To ensure your business stays up-to-date, it’s important to file your annual return by the last day of the month following the anniversary of your registration month. For instance, if your corporation was registered in April 2022, the deadline for filing your return is May 31, 2023.
When submitting your annual return, all you need is:
1. One piece of government issued photo identification
2. The Annual Return form (pdf), which you will receive from Corporate Registries as a reminder. If you’ve already received this form by email, there’s no need to download it again.

How to File the Annual Return
Alberta corporations are responsible for notifying the Alberta Corporate Registry that their company is still operating and the registered information is up to date (e.g. directors, shareholders, agent for service, registered address … etc.).

Fill out the application form and make sure to indicate any updates to shareholders, directors, the agent for service, and addresses. Alternatively, you may use the pre-filled application form provided in the notification email. Verify that all information is accurate before submitting the form
2. Submit your application
Submit the application form by following the link below. The cost for the return is $78.00 plus any applicable credit card processing fee. Please make sure to provide accurate contact information. Our corporate specialist will promptly review and finalize your return within 1-2 business days.
